At Calming Corner OT, I offer feeding therapy for children aged 0-16 years. This can be provided as a once-off consultation or as ongoing therapy depending on your child and family’s needs.
Feeding challenges can feel overwhelming and distressing for both children and parents. Some children may have a limited range of preferred foods, experience stress or anxiety around mealtimes, or find eating difficult due to sensory differences, developmental needs, or neurodivergence. Whatever your experience looks like, you are not alone.
My approach is gentle, supportive, and I prioristise safety and connection. I focus on helping your child feel comfortable around food while also educating and empowering you with practical strategies that fit into your everyday life. The goal is to make mealtimes feel calmer, more positive, and more manageable for the whole family.
Together, we will work towards:
Creating calm, safe, and positive mealtime experiences.
Reducing pressure and stress around eating.
Building consistent and realistic mealtime routines.
Building your child's natural hunger cycle so they are hungry at mealtimes, and supporting their natural hunger and fullness cues.
Exploring factors such as positioning, environment, and sensory needs.
Using low-pressure, play-based approaches to make food feel safe and enjoyable.
There is no forcing and no pressure, just small steps at your child’s pace.
To get started, please complete the referral form on this website and specify feeding therapy.
Once your referral is received, I will be in touch with next steps. Prior to your initial consultation, you will be asked to fill out:
A feeding-specific questionnaire
A 3-day food and drink journal
A short video of your child eating during a mealtime
This information allows me to build an understanding of your child’s current feeding skills and challenges, and will save us a lot of time in our initial consult.
Following our consultation, you will receive a comprehensive report outlining my observations and key findings, and recommendations/strategies you can begin implementing at home.
If needed or desired we can then move into ongoing therapy sessions where I will provide 1:1 support.
Thankyou for trusting me, and I look forward to working with you! :)
